Scope of Work
1. Complete NEW Timing Belt Kit:
- Wet Belt Kit
- Timing belt tensioner
- Oil pump drive belt
- New timing cover
- New crankshaft oil seal
(Oil pump cover not included, as agreed)
2. Replacement of Service Items:
- New engine oil (Ford EcoBlue specification)
- New oil filter
3. Cleaning and Inspection Procedures:
- Removal of the oil sump
- Thorough cleaning of the oil sump
- Cleaning of the oil pump
- Cleaning of the oil pickup (strainer) from wet‑belt debris
4. Final Assembly and Checks:
- Installation of all new components
- Leak inspection
- Reset of service parameters
- Test drive
Consequences of Not Replacing the Wet Belt on Time
The wet belt in the Ford EcoBlue engine deteriorates in oil over time. Rubber particles contaminate the lubrication system and can cause severe engine damage.
Most common consequences:
1. Wet belt degradation and breakup
Debris blocks the oil pickup → loss of oil pressure → risk of engine seizure.
2. Oil pump damage Contaminants can damage the pump rotor → unstable or low oil pressure.
3. Camshaft or bearing seizure Insufficient lubrication leads to major mechanical failure.
4. Belt snap and valve‑to‑piston collision Catastrophic engine damage — often uneconomical to repair.
5. Crankshaft oil seal failure Oil leaks, clutch contamination, reduced oil level, further engine wear.
